It’s been six years since the release of Red Dead Redemption, and now it’s finally time to take the first look at the next game in the series. Rockstar started teasing a followup to the critically acclaimed open world western a few days ago, and this morning the official trailer will hit at 11 a.m. EST. We don’t know much about it, other than that there are cowboys, but some early leaks suggest that it may be a prequel, moving back in time to a wilder time in the frontier than what Red Dead Redemption dealt with. A map for the game leaked a little while ago as well, both lending credence to the prequel theory and giving us a little more info about where we’d be playing. It even including a version of New Bordeaux, the fictionalized New Orleans that serves as the setting for this year’s Mafia 3.
We’ll get answers soon: watch below for the reveal trailer. Red Dead Redemption 2 will release in fall 2017 on Xbox One and PS4.
