The multiplayer-focused Payday 2 is coming to the Nintendo Switch in 2017, Nintendo announced during its Nintendo Direct presentation today.
The cooperative first-person shooter allows up to four players to participate in heists and steal the most cash to upgrade weapons and customize skills. The trailer notes that the Nintendo Switch edition will contain “a huge amount of Payday 2 content” when it launches later this year.
The mature rated title originally launched for PC, Xbox 360, and PlayStation 3 in August 2013. An improved version containing some of the DLC, known as Payday 2: Crimewave Edition, was released for Xbox One and PlayStation 4 in 2015.
Developer Overkill Software continues to support the game on PC, recently ended a 10-day event for the community called “The Search for Kento.” The event adds new heists, masks, weapons, mods, and features to the game. It is unknown how much extra content will be present in the Switch version, or if the game will be supported with DLC post-launch.
