On Monday, the highly-regarded producer posted on Instagram that he was “working with an iconic Japanese gaming company to adapt one of their iconic video game series into a series.”
We have yet to learn specifically what franchise this could be, but TheWrap seems to have picked up on rumours that it could be The Legend of Zelda.
“Producer Adi Shankar is in talks to produce a series based on the long-running “The Legend of Zelda” video game franchise, TheWrap has learned exclusively” states the site, though no source is acknowledged – so treat this as rumour for now.
TheWrap notes that when reached for comment, a Nintendo spokesperson said, “We have nothing to announce on this topic.” That isn’t exactly a flat ‘no’ right?
