The internet is abuzz trying to figure out where to buy the NES Classic Edition, Nintendo’s retro-styled re-release of the legendary console.
As of Friday morning, fans were disappointed to find the system in low supply at retailers and seeing listings on eBay up to $999. There’s no doubt the NES Classic Edition is worth the hype (you can check our review), but if we can help you buy the NES Classic at a responsible price, we’d love to help.
If you’re looking to buy the NES Classic Edition today, here are some of your best options.
Amazon will start taking preorders on the NES Classic at 2 p.m. PT on Nov. 11. Keep in mind that the retailer will be restricting orders to one console per customer and they’ll be disabling 1-Click Ordering when you buy. If you cannot get a console from them today, they’ll have more consoles available near the holiday rush. We also recommend bookmarking the product listing page.
Best Buy is currently showing the NES Classic as Sold Out, but a rep told Polygon that if you purchase the product from the online store, you can get it shipped directly to you. If you’re looking to get it in stores, check Best Buy’s store hours and get there fast.
GameStop has the product listed online, but currently isn’t taking any preorders yet. However, they are offering several bundles including: an extra controller, the console plus a retrospective book, a bundle with a controller and the book and even one that comes with a backpack.
Target is currently listing the product as “only in store” and we don’t have word on if/when it’ll be sold online. Be sure to check Target’s hours if you’re looking to visit to get the console.
If you’re still stuck, check out the NES Classic website to get more details on other retailers. Good luck!
