Last night, GAME blew the starting whistle on a night to remember as it opened hundreds of stores at midnight for the launch of the most hotly anticipated football game of the year: FIFA 15.
Stars of the game attended the launches at GAME stores across the UK, and have gone into extra time with another event in Edinburgh today, testing out their FIFA skills in one-on-one matches and signing copies of the game for fans.
A strong line up saw Tottenham’s Eric Dier at GAME’s flagship store in Stratford; as well as Jon Flanagan (Liverpool Lord Street), Paul Dummett (Newcastle Eldon Square store), Adam Federici (Reading Oracle store), David Edgar (Birmingham Bullring store), and trio David Meyler, Liam Rosenior and Tom Ince in the Hull St Stephens store. Those in Scotland still have everything to play for, as Danny Wilson makes an appearance at GAME Edinburgh today 3pm – 5pm.
What’s more GAME also took extra precautions to protect stock of the highly anticipated FIFA 15 game: hiring the world’s strongest footballer, Ade ‘The beast’ Akinfenwa, to guard stock prior to launch.
Dave Howard, Stores Director at GAME said: “FIFA gets bigger and better every year and last night was no exception. As well as thousands of fans who braved the late night to get their hands on the game as soon as possible, it was great to see so many big-name footballers get involved: giving a few lucky gamers the chance to battle it out against their heroes – on a more level play field of course!”
See you on the pitch…
