A patent has been published which sheds light on what Sony could have in store for the Playstation 5.
The patent, called ‘remastering by emulation’ was discovered by Gearnuke, and was published on 2 October.
However, it appears that the patent was initially made on 22 November 2016.
It details a fairly complex technique for remastering textures from old games, and replacing them with new ones to suit more modern displays.
This suggests that the , allowing users to play old games on the new console.
It says: “Each asset such as a texture called for by legacy software such as a legacy computer game software has a unique identifier associated with it.
Lets hope so….
